Don't be fooled by its compact size: Newcon Optik's 6.5x30 LRM Laser Rangefinder is packed with an impressive amount of technology. Its Class 1 eye-safe IR laser is capable of ranging more than two miles, and its 1550nm peak wavelength puts it beyond the capacity of most NVDs to see, so users can perform their duties without giving their position away.
Its built-in inclinometer determines the relative angle from the user to the target and displays it in degrees or milliradians. The LRM has an integrated GPS receiver and digital magnetic compass to obtain the user's location and direction. These technologies work together to provide users with an array of information that is shown on the in-view OLED display. Along with distance and angle, the LRM can measure the speed of a target and determine the distance, horizontal/azimuth/inclination difference, and height difference between objects. Using the GPS receiver and the rangefinder, it can determine the target's GPS coordinates. An RS-232 port enables connectivity to smartphones and tablets running Android operating systems, allowing for real-time target mapping and geospatial data communication.
Newcon Optik has sealed the housing to be MIL-STD-810G compliant for waterproof and fogproof performance, which when coupled with its wide -31 to 131°F (-35 to 55°C) operating temperature range, makes it capable of withstanding harsh conditions.
